I know Walmart was never unionized, but what active steps have they taken to prevent it?

From the company that will loose because of it.
Not anyone with authority.
I do love the pic in the article though.....

As if it's Wally worlds job to ensure a "living" wage, whatever the fuck that is.
I like how the left thinks a company is there to provide people with the highest standard of living possible.
It's like they've lost touch with reality.
A living wage is a perfectly reasonable thing to demand. It makes no difference whatsoever whether an employer's "job" is to provide such a thing. It was never an employer's "job" to grant any of the gains the American labor movement has won since the early 20th Century, but thank "Bob" it won them!
Define "living wage."
Most countries have a pretty solid definition, with a number attached.
If capitalism is so freaking amazing, capitalists should be able to pay workers enough to live - it's kind of an integral part of the equation.
Isn't that called "minimum wage?" We have that too.
I know Walmart was never unionized, but what active steps have they taken to prevent it?
Wally World is crap.
Never go there.
Ever.
Define "living wage."
1. People don't want to live within their means.
2. Minimum wage is not meant to be a career wage.
(Note Walmart starting wage is $11.00)
How about a wage where the government, ie the taxpayer, doesn't have to subsidise your full time employees just so they can pay rent and bills?
How about the government not subsidizing at all?
Indeed has it listed at 9.60 something an hour.

https://news.walmart.com/2018/01/11...nd-expand-hourly-maternity-and-parental-leave
"BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Jan. 11, 2018 – Today, Walmart announced plans to increase the starting wage rate for all hourly associates in the U.S. to $11, expand maternity and parental leave benefits and provide a one-time cash bonus for eligible associates of up to $1,000. The company is also creating a new benefit to assist associates with adoption expenses."
"This increase in wages to associates will take effect in February and will be approximately $300 million incremental to what was already included in next fiscal year’s plan."
Been in effect since FEB 2018
According to your link they are planning to do it, maybe one day they will.
As a matter of fact the article says the 11.00 wage went into effect FEB 2018.
We are now living in the year 2019.
It's not an article, it's a press release from Walmart.
We're living in 2019 and there are ads for Walmart jobs for less than $11 an hour.
Forbes had an article about it as well.
I don't check the want ads for jobs at Walmart like you do.
Good luck with your job hunting.

The whole point is it's cheap crap.
