On Sunday evening, just I settled in to watch the Sunday Night football on ESPN my golden retriever wandered up to the front door and jumped up on the wall nudging her leash hanging on it's peg. She then turned at looked at me with those big brown eyes. I could hear the rain falling on the roof over the back porch. I had just opened a beer. But there she stood looking at me then up at the leash.

What would you do? Me, I caved. Got up, got my rain coat, grabbed the leash and took the dog for a walk. She loved it. I got wet.

Shhh, you'll ruin the softy thing I've go going here

BTW anybody gonna answer the question? :)

I always get up and take the dog out.

I never minded getting wet.

It was all of the falling down that I did when it was icy that I minded.

lol,I fell alot. My dog thought it was funny to pull me along after I fell. ;)

Hahaha now that is true love for a dog!

Did I mention I have a big fenced-in backyard? She doesn't "have" to be walked, she just likes inspecting the neighborhood every once and a while.

I'd take the mutt for a walk, I just love dawgs and walking in the rain ;)

Somehow I bet you do . . . like walking mutts in the rain that is. ;)

The dogs come first. For how much love they give me, I am forever in their debt.

I am eternally thankful that I have underground fencing and three acres for the dogs to run on. I haven't walked a dog in years.

I used to love rollerblading with my greyhound though... she just pulled me along and I didn't have to do any work.

I seriously forgot how much I enjoy...

...having a dog around. I just got a 9 year old German Shepherd who thinks she is a puppy from the SPCA on Friday. She is the smartest, most well behaved and friendly dog, it continues to amaze me. I can't believe anyone could just give her up for adoption. She's gotten along perfectly with my cats, strangers, kids, the works. I feel more energetic, more alive and I am sleeping better than I had in months. When I came home from class yesterday, I almost cried from the warm welcome she gave me. There is nothing like that undevotional love that animals give you.

I'd take my doggy for a walk, too! I don't have a dog, but if I did, I would take her. You can always take a hot bath and open a fresh beer. There's always another football game on somewhere.

You just can't get that time back with your kids, parents, friends, pet, etc. Once it's gone, it's gone! :rose:

That is completely the truest thing ever said. I know from experience. In the span of a year I lost my fiance, my highschool best friend, my mother and my german shepherd Molly. Each time I felt like I was breaking. What sustained me were the memories of special times shared with each of them. Still, I think of all those times I had done things that I "thought" were important. They really aren't. Its those moments you can spend with the ones you love...family, friends, animals...those are the things that really count.

I love my girl! She's got me wrapped around her not-so-little paw.

If I don't walk my dog when he wants it, he could seriously hurt me. Or at least lead me to believe that. He got me up at 11 last night just to go out by breathing on me in bed. It felt like I was next to a dryer vent...
