The poor girl has already sent me her story twice, but when I open it, it's in code

.wps files are from Microsoft Works, and neither Word nor Wordperfect will open them. You could ask her if there are any formats she could use 'Save As' with which you might be able to read, .rtf, .txt being the most likely.

Don't know enough about Works to give a better answer.

Edited to add: There are converters available. Have a look here.

i had that problem. i had to save it as rtf for it to be edited. it was no big deal. i just have two copies of the same file on my computer and only because i want to be able to use spell check and do as much of editing as i can. grammar check works wonders.

My last one was suprisingly quick! If memory serves, took about 48 hours to be posted in the new story section.

I think it all just depends how "backed-up" Lit is at the time.

thank you for ignoring my typo. 48 hours? that'd be great. i'm about ready to just submit my semi-edited copy of the story just to get the ball rolling. i checked and she's been online today. hell, she was online when i posted this thread.

thank you, but it's only the last little smidge that hasn't been edited. i'm not too worried about it.
