...until Colby leaves for his new home. 3pm tomorrow is it, folks. I'm so attached to him. I don't want him to go! I want to keep him! But that wouldn't be fair to Aiko...argh. He's so sweet. He & Aiko have been playing non-stop. Not the nicest play...Aiko holds him down and grooms him, or holds him down and bites on him untill he squeals and I have to intervene. Then as soon as Aiko's back is turned, Colby jumps on Aiko's tail and it starts all over again. Not the love-fest I dreamed of between them, but it's still play even if it is rough play.

I'll miss him. A lot.

Why can't Aiko have a playmate?

When I bought my first kitten, the breeder tried to talk me into taking two right away. I'd never had a cat before and said I'd stick with one. They said I'd be back and they were correct. That lasted a year or so and then I got my first cat a kitten for his Christmas present. The vet suggested to give him a playmate. Now I'll always have two cats at a time- they are so much fun to watch together!

Sawwwwwwwy for your loss...

I do hope you have visiting rights.

We have just had 4 kittens this afternoon (well we didn't our cat did), and they are some of the cutest critters I have ever seen.

Grey tiger stripes or Black and White, Mum is a Black and White Dad was a ginger and Grey striped putty tat.

When we have some pics taken we will post them.

Laurel I know this may not help, but it may be for a reason ... you know, Colby may leave to make way for another little kitty that needs your love and help to find you.

I wish you luck :)

Good Luck little Colby, your leaving one of the best.

Why can't Aiko have a playmate?

Because Aiko's a big baby. ;)

Seriously though...her personality changed when Colby arrived, and though she gradually got used to his presence, she was never very happy with him here. Colby's been gone only 7 hours and Aiko's already back to her usually loving purry self. Yes, she should be nicer. It'd be great if she were more social. But that's her personality, and she's a cat. I could try to "force" Colby on her, but it would only drive a wedge between us. As much as I love Colby, I can't forget my commitment to Aiko.

I'm pretty sad right now. I tried to be strong, but I did break down a little when I said goodbye to Colby. His new home is awesome...his new momma had been looking for a boy kitty to be a companion to her and her older male cat. Colby's the sweetest, most friendly, most playful kitten. He'll be soo happy in his new home...but I keep expecting to feel a little nibble on my ankle. I took a nap, and I woke up without a little furry rascal on my neck. It got me crying again. I've made many little stray kittie friends, but Colby somehow managed to wrap himself around my heart. It's really hard. I hope that it stops hurting soon. :(

The girl who found the home says she'll keep me updated on Colby's life. I'm glad, because I love him and want to know what's happening to the little guy, but it's not the same.

I know. She's back to her old self. Still sucks, though. I'll get over it, I know. Oh well. I'll stop whining. For now. lol.

Awwwww poor Laurel

I feel your pain. When I moved last time both my cats ran away during the trip up here, broke my heart. :( We stayed at the motel an extra night just so we could search the woods they ran into one more time, but alas we didn't find them.

Ezzy you better post those pics! I wanna see the kitten that's named after me!
