Eliminate that free program and see how much money America saves.
Yes. let's not give food to young low income pregnant women.
Instead how about churches start paying taxes?
How about the child molester supporting Catholics anti up and pay their fair share?
Nah, let's not do that.

This may sound like satire but it's not. I saw a sign in my grocery store saying "fresh lobster wic approved". I asked the seafood guy if that was right and he said yes. Fresh seafood was covered by wic.
Lots of meat is covered by WIC... why should red meat and other unhealthy things be covered and seafood not? I never really buy food- is it more expensive or something? Generally the healthier foods tend to be what you get on WIC, and seafood's one of the healthiest meat products you can get. I don't understand why you would be upset by this.
Maybe it's just envy. I work and can't afford lobster yet others that don't work can get a luxury item for free.

WIC has come along way.
15 years ago my sister ended up on it for awhile when her d-bag husband left her with a three year old and pregnant with child number two. She was a stay at home mom so didn't have a job right away.
It covered things like milk eggs cheese bread yogurt cereal stuff like that. Once the baby was born it covers formula which is ridiculously expensive.
Lobster, jeez.
Ever since they passed that law that says you have to have a car seat to bring home your baby you can get car seats in certain states. I thought that was cool.
I remember throwing a bitch fit one time because my mom wouldn't get me cereal- I wanted Cheerie Xs and Os- they were a special thing that Cheerios had put out, and we couldn't get them because you could only get certain sizes of cereal. You could get Cheerios, but they didn't have the special kind in the size we needed so I threw this giant bitch fit. I don't know why I remember that. Turned out it was a WIC thing.
Yeah it was by ounces I think. I used to take her shopping, but didn't pay too much attention.
One thing I do recall is a piece of shit in an expensive suit behind us bitching because it was a taking a long time to ring out that "welfare case."
My sister got pretty upset and when we went outside and were putting the stuff in my car, I saw him heading over to his BMW and went and poured a can of baby formula all over his suit and his car.
Immature, but very, very satisfying.
Oh yeah... lobster's a luxury item. I keep forgetting that because of the fact that it's a bug that tastes horrible. They are expensive, aren't they? But yeah, most health food is covered by WIC because you only get it if you're 3 and under- and that's the time when you need seafood for brain development. It's not price-based, it's nutrition based. It's actually the government's way of saying, "I'll give you food but not money." It forces parents to actually buy food with it, rather then you know, bullshit. It makes you feed your kids seafood and vegetables rather then chocolate bars. And it's really particular about what you can get.
Babies can't even eat lobster. Well I guess they could puree it in a blender but do you really believe that the lobster is going to the babies?
