Voting system!

[alexanaika]

I just wonder how is the voting system works? I noticed that the number of votes on my story is decreasing! Can anyone tell me why is that?

Ah, you must have caught the beginning of a sweep. The site has a mystery formula for detecting erroneous/malicious/padded votes and it subtracts them. We are at the end of a writing contest, so if you are now seeing that happen to your stories, the sweeper is doing its thing. (And don't bother to ask what formula it's using--that's an intentional mystery.)

Later: However, I don't see the effect in my story list. So when did you notice this decrease in votes? (Your answer won't change the explanation--it's just that a lot of folks are waiting for a contest sweep that usually happens a couple of times during the contest and doesn't appear to have done so this time.)

Thanks, sr71plt, I think I understood something!
