I've seen more than a few comments on how many readers vote on stories. With that in mind I decided to see how those who read my work vote. I have stories in 6 different categories: Romance, Mature, Erotic Couplings, Loving Wives, Nonconsent/Reluctance and Incest/Taboo. After breaking down the number of reads per vote here's what I found:

Romance: 30
Mature: 61
Erotic Couplings: 74
Loving Wives: 240
Nonconsent/Reluctance: 236
Incest/Taboo: 67

There could be anomalies. Two categories have only a few stories, Mature has 3 and Loving Wives has 4. Of those in Loving Wives one of them has been up for 22 years and another for 18.

That said I think it points to which group of readers are more likely to vote on a story.

Some categories you could be getting readers who will follow you wherever-but doubtful with I/T and N/C they are not everyone's thing, other categories you're getting just that reader base.

One thing I've learned here is there are so many variables that the variables have variable due to all the categories, sub categories, factions of readers within each main and sub category.

I gave up trying to figure it out and just post and hope for the best

Your numbers are very different from mine.

My Loving Wives view:vote ratio (only 2 stories) is about 45:1.

My average incest view:vote ratio is higher than yours, but it ranges from 115 to 48.

My Mature ratio is about 95.

My lowest view:vote ratio for any story is for my Loving Wives story: 35:1. My highest ratio is for my only Toy story: 211:1.

Keep in mind, many factors can affect view:vote ratios, such as the length of the story. The shorter the story, the higher the percentage of people who will finish it and vote on it.

The other thing to keep in mind is that views are not equal to votes. My guess is that for standalone stories or first chapters no more than one quarter of the people who click on it actually read it. I suspect what you are seeing is greater variability in the ratio of those who click on (view) a story to those who actually read it than in the ratio of those who read it and those who vote on it.

At 450 stories as ogg (and more as jeanne_d_artois) i have too many to be bothered to count.
