"Voting" on stories in Extreme...

I was wondering, since the stories on the Extreme link don't show up on our Lit author's page, and the votes don't matter, why is the voting feature allowed there? What good does it do?

I was wondering, since the stories on the Extreme link don't show up on our Lit author's page, and the votes don't matter, why is the voting feature allowed there? What good does it do?

I haven't been to the extreme site for a while, so I don't remember if it has a top story list.

I do know that the extreme stories are manually formated to the same template that Lit used befor the change to scripts and the votes on lit stories used to be only to rank top stories and nobody except Laurel ever saw the votes or scores.
