Votes not appearing on stories

After recently posting a story, I noticed after a couple of days that the votes just stopped. I thought it was odd that voting simply ceased after a couple of days, so I did a little investigating.

Using a different machine and an anonymous account, I attempted to vote on the story. As a control, I voted on two other stories in the same series. The first two stories in the series, the votes appeared... the third story, and the one in question, the vote did not appear.

I repeated the test several times on the story in question. Of the three times I attempted to vote, not one appeared. I then used my regular login, and changed my existing vote. The vote score changed. I changed it again, and again the vote score changed.

I'm not sure what's going on, but it makes me wonder how many of my entries are not receiving votes. The story with the problem is linked below.

Oh yes, before anyone suggested, voting is not disabled on the story with the problem.

I was able to give the story a vote. It probably won't stick though, so don't get too excited.

Don't overlook the obvious - maybe no-one is voting.

It's a third chapter, and the view numbers are low. What is the Vote per View ratio of the first two parts? I'd expect that ratio to stay much the same - although you've distorted any reader input with your various tests.

What I was seeing was that I would vote, the little stars would light up, it would say saved like normal, but I when I went back and checked the vote count, the number of votes remained the same.

What really made me wonder was I voted on three stories exactly the same way, and two of the three votes showed up, but not the third.

As far as readers not voting... Certainly a possibility. I would have thought nothing of it had my vote shown up in the vote count. The only reason I was suspicious was because all the votes arrived within about 24 hours... And then there was a week of not a single vote more.
