Vote/View Ratio

Thanks, soflabbwlvr!

I think your post sums it up very well. Probably the target audience is just too small to expect more popularity. Wow-fans who like erotic stories, find them here AND like my strange fetishes are rarer than assumed. :)

Nevertheless, I think I will do the fifth chapter at least, because I already know what I want to do there (lot's of (non-erotic) action, even an unavoidable case of death and cuddly comfort in the end). And I should just stop looking at those damn numbers.

You all are giving great support here, thanks again!

I believe (this was true last time I asked) that whenever a story file is accessed, that counts as a view. So it doesn't matter if a person reads one page or twenty of a single submission - it's still one view, because the text of that submission has been accessed by the database once.

La Reine!!!

As soon as I saw this post by the QUEEN I copied it off and emailed it to jim. I knew he'd be delighted.

As others have noted the term "view" has never before been defined by the powers that be. This in spite of many, many requests and an endless number of threads on the topic over the years.

So all of us at ScouriesWorld applaud the QUEEN for this effort.

We just wish though that her highness hadn't added in the this was true last time I asked line. Who'd she ask? How many years ago? Unfortunately when someone adds something like this to a statement you can't help wondering if she's allowing herself some wiggle room for not telling the complete truth.

And what does because the text of that submission has been accessed by the database once mean? If true, wouldn't it be simpler and clearer to state something like: "A view is defined as follows: Each time a LITEROTICA reader clicks open a story one (and only one) 'view' is added to said stories view total."

However this is better than nothing (which retardo darkboy seems to prefer so thanks QUEENIE :rose:...

A small target audience has potential when the material has appeal. Your wares may even become an acquired taste for others who are weary of their usual fare. I love ham but I like variety, too.

For example, I'm fond of proletariats who live in squalid communities where crime and vice and poverty thrive. They exist at a subsistence level. They don't appeal to readers who enjoy glamour and sophisticated life styles. But some readers do enjoy it, and I have the category to myself to develop.
