I had a story go 'up' today, approx eight hours ago and I am amazed at the amount of votes its accumulated already, 79 so far.
Is anyone else experiencing a surge like this as well? I'm not complaining! I am just bemused by this unusual phenonemon.

Maybe the category is a voting one. Some are. Incest gets plenty votes, for instance; maybe Mature is the same way. I can tell you Non-Erotic Poetry isn't a big vote getter. I never made the minimum ten votes there, and I hear that's not unusual. The readership is different in the different categories.

For that matter, only a couple of my stories have > 100 votes.
