Voodoo Game

It's an idea I have, where somehow a game in CD form ends up in the main character's hands. It's a PC game, or so it seems. But instead of merely simulating events, it actually affects them in real life.

As the main character plays with the simulated people, he is unaware (at first) that he is causing them to behave as he wishes. He thinks that he is just acting out his fantasies through a game. Little does he know...

So, like his neighbor(s) are the one he's affecting? Or, do you want just random people at other parts of the world? With someone he remotely knows, or is near him, that person can somehow find out that it's him? And then think of something from there?

Co-workers and some neighbors, mostly. That's how I see it. He's a confirmed bachelor and something of a nerd/misanthrope, though not a virgin by any means. He doesn't fit all of the geek stereotypes. He just hasn't slept with anyone outside of certain social circles until now.
