Habitat is one of the best things you could do with your time. I hope you enjoy it and know that you do indeed provide a person with a home.

MISKA is the kind of {person } we all need :rose:

I volunteered to work on a kibbutz during the gulf war. I stayed on for two years and reinforced the stereotype of the British abroad by getting drunk a lot.

I volunteer for an organization called Newborns In Need. It is a group of woman who get together once a month and make baby clothes for babies born at the County Hospital, which is Parkland Hospital in Dallas. There will be around 16,000 babies born there this year, more than any other hospital in the U.S. Being a county hosp., many of them have absolutely nothing. Of course, we don't come close to completely filling the need, but we figure, every little bit helps. It is very rewarding.

I volunteered 4 years of my life to work in Search and Rescue (Coast Guard). Yeah I got paid for it - about a dollar per hour of duty time.
