Volunteer suicide bombers seek to attack Israel

how will this make things better? if god is about love, how can one become a suicide bomber?

Simple. If a Muslim dies fighting the unbelievers, the Muslim goes directly to paradise and collects 72 houris. Any other form of death requires some waiting before entering paradise.

Perhaps a better question is why the imams don't issue a widely signed, joint fatwa that at least limits the free ticket to paradise and 72 houris to those who die fighting soldiers, not unarmed civilians.

Because to the evil old, the young are but rounds of ammunition to be expended as fast as possible. That leaves all the nubile virgins to be "cared for".

Isn’t god supposed to be about love? I do remember a few years ago that if parents would offer their children for suicide bombers in Lebanon they would earn $20. how can a human life be worth only $20?

Isn’t there something totally wrong with the Middle East way of thinking?

Yes, and they want us to shed a tear for a picture of a dead Palestinian kid, as if they don't willingly sacrifice them anyway.

The "Middle East" has zilch to do with it.

There's something totally wrong with human beings who wish to hurt and can't show tolerance, compassion or respect towards other human beings who are different from them. Know what I'm saying?

Lost of history there and same for what was Yugoslavia ....

I’m just a stranger looking into someone else’s sandbox … I can’t judge or really criticizes (too much) but I would think that life would be worth more….

The Iranian imams won't do that. They probably derive a certain amount of status from how many people they can persuade to kill themselves in the name of their faith.

Perhaps if the Israelis know about a plane or ship on its way to their country and full of such bombers, they can shoot it down or sink it. That way, the bombers can die fighting "unbelievers" but not take anybody with them.

It's not just Iranian Ayatollahs who urge the deluded faithful into homicide bombings, but the Muslim radicals of all national origins/residence. The motive is both a gain of status, which allows the receipt of donated funds, and the ability to strike at those who will eventually wipe out the radicals.

Many of the more recent homicide bombers are either the mentally retarded, or those who have given up all hope, mainly due to the vicious attacks of the Muslim radicals. If you are a Muslim of the wrong persuasion, compared to those Muslims you live among, you may have to run to somewhere else or die. When you are forced to run to somewhere else, the radicals have no interest in supporting you, nor do your Arab 'brothers.' You find yourself starving in a foreign area, with no resources and no real way out, except death.

I know that. It's even those in more civilized countries, such as UK or USA who are urging their followers to kill as many "unbelievers" as possible. There should be a way to do somethuing about it, except that such exhortations sometimes are protected free speech.

However, this thread is about Iranian imams, who are mostly Persian, not Arab.

True, however, most of the people who are homicide bombers or displaced people are Arabs, Iraqu Arabs. Even the Shia Arabs , mostly in the South of Iraq are not welcome in Iran after the Iraq/Iran war.

Why is it we're quick to jump on the suicide bombers - and I'm NOT in any way saying what they're doing is RIGHT - but not the Israelis who are bombing camps they KNOW the attacks came from that they also KNOW have been fucking deserted?

Both sides are as bad as each other.

Because suicide bombers TARGET women, children and other innocent people so as to cause the maximum amount of human suffering and garner the biggest headlines. They purposefully do not attempt to go after even "supposed" military targets.

And they do that because they know full well that military targets will spot and kill them before they can detonate their bombs so by going after the women and kiddies they have totally helpless, undefended targets. Suicide bombers are soooooo brave and macho, you know.

I won't bother to lecture anybody about a little thing known as Circular Error Probability to discount that "Israel only strikes at military targets."

And seriously, how many of the people here would not do the same thing if they were in the same position as the Palestinians? Be honest.

I notice that your answer did not at all adress the Israelis. Whereas that was the question.

I see two sides happily mowing down civilians.

And one side washing their hands it by decrying "Oh no, we're the Good Guys. We're just aiming at the Bad Guys. It's all their fault for hiding behind the women and children, we can't possibly take that into account. Ps, remember we're the eternal underdog here. (chough*holocaust*cough)."

And the other side washing their hands in the eyes of their base, by interweaving their ruthless militarism with whatever religious extremism suits their purpose.

Exactly. Thank you.

There is a warped faction of Islam that believes and spreads this Jihad crap. Most do not. I have actually read the Koran and if followed it would have a very peaceful people. There are parts that can be twisted and thase are the parts that cause the problem. There are parts of the Christian Bible that are used the same way.

Actually Liar, the question was "Why is it we're quick to jump on the suicide bombers - and I'm NOT in any way saying what they're doing is RIGHT - but not the Israelis"... That is what I addressed.

To all of you that thinks it's acceptable, excusable and/or justifiable for anybody to purposely target and MURDER children FOR ANY REASON:

FUCK YOU!

And that is the essential point here. In the Middle East there are no good guys. In spite of the protestations of the cynical manipulators from either side, what we have here is two sets of thugs, each claiming international sympathy as the victims. Hamas knew damned well that Israel would rain fire and brimstone down on them and is perfectly willing to sacrifice the unwilling in order to attract support from others of their ilk. Israel, for its part, sees nothing wrong with "collateral damage" around their intended targets so long as the damaged and dead are all Arabs.

No Good Guys, none.

Did anyone say that?

Of course not. What everyone is saying is as VM said: There are no good guys.

eta: chill, girl. Not a single person has said that it's "okay to kill children." Personally, I think that Israel carries just as much blame for the mess as Palestine. You can yell "fuck you" all you like, but it doesn't change anything.

I hadn't realized I was taking sides. I'd figured after all my years her and my endless opposition to the mindless horror that is war it would be unnecessary to point out I don't pick sides.

However, it appears unless I specifically state my support for one side or the other I'm a monster.

I'd reply in kind but I think it would be better to just repeat a favorite saying of mine.

To be angered by evil is to partake of it, stupid.
