The man who murdered foreign minister Anna Lindh was sentenced to life in prison today. They say that he'll not be able to get out on parol for atleast 18 years - which is much more than I had expected. Normally, we sentence murderers to 8 years, and they get out after 5, if they behave.
Ofcourse, since he murdered a celebrity, the punishment has to be worse.

The court called it a very brutal murder, and since he had time to plan and prepare the murder, the court refused to listen to the defense's theory about Mihaijlovic acting on an impulse. They also refused to accept his excuse "I was only following orders from the voices in my head".

So there you have it - don't listen to the voices in your head. They are bad company, and they will only get you in trouble.

Yes, typical. If he has voices in his head, and knows that they are voices in his head, then he isn't really all that crazy . . . 18 years seems like a good amount of time, and if he were here, he'd probably get out in 10.

Now, if he were here, and had have raped a young lady but retained her virginity, he'd have got off with a slap on his wrist, or deported - oooo!

There was a guy in Calif. who raped a young woman but let her retain her virginity. He forced her to give him head. He died in the gas chamber in 1960.

There was an ANAL case her in Canada, where someone has raped someone anally, apparently, it was not considered rape BECAUSE she was still a virgin, technically. Now lets talk Kenedy and Tyson . . . or . . . that weird german case . . . "I did it cuz he wanted me to and was consenting to my cannabalistic insanity - I am not crazy!"

That happened in Texas a few years back and she bit the tip of the damn thing off. I wouldn't recommend trying it in California or Texas. (Lorena Bit-it, I think, was her name.)

A similar case came up where a man raped a woman and she 'made' him wear a condom. His defense argued it was consensual for her request.
