Visualizing your characters

Neither. The font for Mother clashes with the Art Deco font in the subtitle. That's a real visual clash to my eye.

I agree. If I have to choose 1 or 2 I choose 2, but EB is right: it would be better still for the fonts to match. And neither options 1 nor 2 match.

I think the font for "Mother" is different specifically so it stands out from rest of the text on the cover. Personally, I have a slight preference for the narrower typeface (right) for "Mother," but I might like it to be spaced away from the subtitle a little more than it is, and that might require the image to be slightly adjusted.

Otherwise, I like the image design, and the font choices probably won't chase readers away.

I have a very clear image of may characters in my head, but I try not to be too specific when describing them. One of my pet peeves in erotica is when writers describe their characters down to the smallest detail. In my humble opinion it's better to slip in the basics naturally and let the reader come up with whatever they like in their minds eye to fill in the rest.

No one seems to care for the left-hand version, which is good to know. The artist and my partner both like the right-hand font, as does everyone here with a preference. I preferred the left-hand, but I'm not artistic.

So, right-hand it is. Thanks for the help!

Yes. I really want to change the big font from what we've been using because I don't feel like it's too legible at thumbnail size. Both of these read better than the old one, so for me there's no "bad choice." I wanted covers that look different than most of the other thumbnails on the webpage.
