Since several of my fave Litsters have already been mentioned, I'd like to add Sweet Erika, BG, Fire Breeze, and Pplwatching.

All are people who have been open and honest with regard to their own struggles in various areas, and who try to the best of their ability to help others in genuine need. It's a trait I admire, and I'd be proud to have each as RL friends.

This year, for the first time in years, we have New Year's Eve plans! I'm sure to be awake for the ball drop this time!

I have this idea, though, and I really hope it doesn't come across as snobby or exclusionary because that's not my intention. Appreciation, gratitude, friendship - these are top on my list of intentions here.

So, I'm throwing a virtual NYE party in this thread. Who would you invite? Why? I'm going to limit myself to only three in the OP, but I'll chime in again (probably once tonight and again tomorrow). Tons of usernames are popping into my head, but I know you'll be mentioned soon. This should be a BIG group, and would be ridiculous fun IRL.

I invite SatinDesire, Eilan, and SilverWhisper.

SatinDesire, you are my Lit BFF. I would not only invite you to my NYE party, but beg you to help with the planning and confide to you about fears (is it going to be fun, do I have enough food, alcohol, etc? Will everyone like the music? And all the what ifs?). I'd want you to stick around long after everyone else heads home.

Eilan, If I see your name as posted in a thread, I read it. I love your wit, humor, and intelligence. At the virtual party, I'd look forward to a chance to just have a conversation with you.

SilverWhisper, you have been someone I respected from day 1 here. You are a true friend in these parts and I'd hope to get to talk to you for a while, too.

Please respond with your invites. Tell that person (or those people) why you're inviting them. I have about a dozen or more names screaming in my head right now, and I'm a bit nervous to post and have anyone feel left out. I'll be back soon to add to the list, just want to give others a chance to post, too. There's no way I could include everyone and do them justice.

Considering how many Olds we got in here we should consider the music list carefully. Dubstep and gangster rap probably won't go down as well as, say, the Top 40 from the 70's and 80's.

I mean, everyone loves music from the 80's, not just the Olds!

Alcohol? Open bar is really the only option. Grey Goose, Patron, Tennyson Absinth for the hipsters, and some really fancy Tequila. Not the crappy kind you have to mix just to get it down, the really good stuff. Like Maestro Dobel Diamond Tequila. That'll make anyone feel like a Sir.

We should also have a selection of lovely wines for anyone that feels like getting really smashed but doesn't like Liquor.

And we should also have some Boones Farm so that people can relive their high school prom night all over again.

A lot of the people that I'd invite are already in here, so I'll skip re-inviting them and invite everyone else I want to come that hasn't shown up yet.
