Virgin skin

Sadly, I have to take off in a few. Thanks for all the replies. I hope to hop back on soon and continue this conversation. I've gotten a lot of insights.

My skin is completely virgin, no tatoos, no piercings a few scars, a couple of major ones on my left wrist where they had to pin my bones back together after i fell down the stairs but apart from my wedding ring, and a ring my mum bought for me, I am pretty much unadorned :)

I thought about having my ears pierced, then decided against it as I was essentially only thinking about it as another gift people could buy me *chuckles*

I have an online friend who is turned on by piercings and tatoos - he has loads of piercings and is really turned on by people with piercings and with the idea of someone being pierced. It doesn't do much for me, though i wouldn't rule someone out because they were pierced or tattoed.

I love the imagery of "virgin skin" and I feel kinda proud that my skin is virgin :)

I'm peirced, and still debating the tattoo... pain... owie.

I have my tongue, lip, nose (stud), lobes and right cartilage peirced.

I want my nipple peirced, its just a case of having the money :)

My left ear is pierced four times, my right ear pierced twice....and my bellybutton's pierced.

And I have four tats.

When I got my first tattoo, my daughter was just a tiny baby....she'll be 25 at the end of this month. You didn't see many women then with them, and it always got a reaction when I wore something that showed the tat. People would walk up and touch it, and say, "You've got a tattoo!"

I would usually gasp, and say in a panicked voice, "Where?! How the fuck did that get there?"

Now, it's no big deal, but back then people automatically assumed that if a woman had a tattoo, she was a biker chick - my first husband hated it (I only had that one while we were married), and my current husband hates them, too....which may be why I keep getting them. :D

I have a small tattoo on my ankle and two piercings in each ear, which I hardly ever use anymore. I have no interest in getting any more of either piercings or tattoos.

I'd say my friends are mostly virgin, with tattoos being more common over piercings in those that do, but I see a lot of people with piercings and tats out here. I have to say, I find the face piercings exceedingly unattractive and distracting, and the tongue piercings seem to make people lisp or talk funny. The more face piercings they have, the more unattractive it is to me. And I can't help thinking how unappealing it would be to try and kiss someone's face or run my fingers along it or press my face against theirs and feel all that metal.

*shrug*

Just my opinion.

I chose all the spots for my tattoos very carefully so that none of them show unless I want them to. The only one that's not regularly covered up all the time is my tiny one up high on my left arm. It's covered if I wear even short sleeves, but sleeveless leaves it in sight. No big deal....if I need to cover them for some reason (like business, etc.), it's not hard to do at all.

That's really smart. Cause I see lots of people here with tattoos that they'd have a hard time hiding if they ever end up trying to get jobs where a more conservative appearance is required. I know they think they would never stoop so low as to want to work for anyone that wouldn't approve of their tattoos, but just how long and how well can they support themselves working at the video store? It seems, in the long run, a lot of tattoos in visible areas will limit your life's opportunities more than necessary.

Tattoos as a message

There are several people in my town who have very visible tattoos and piercings.

One man has a spiderweb over his face, spikes in his nose, lips and eyebrows and distended earlobes with large plugs. He is permanently unemployed and living off the state. He freely admits that some of his tattoos and piercings are deliberately intended to deter potential employers. He can claim that he has been to job interviews and has been rejected, thus justifying his continued claim for unemployment benefit. Is that ethical?

A woman has five rings in each ear, a large nose ring, spikes through her upper lip, a shaved head with tattoos of skulls on her skin. She only applies for jobs that would mean facing the public - and is rejected by the potential employer. She doesn't admit that she doesn't want to be employed but her actions suggest that is her intention.

Many youngsters have one or two discreet tattoos in places that can be covered or revealed depending on their mood. Several have temporary tattoos that fade over a couple of weeks and are then replaced by something different.

Five years ago there were no tattoo or piercing salons locally. Now every small town seems to have at least one. Will the current generation appear odd in fifty years time?

I have three tattoos and my ears are each pierced four times. I used to have my tongue pierced and I used to have my belly button pierced. This weekend I am going in to get my little ear nub thingy pierced. (technical term)

I like all my tats. They only show if I choose them too and the one that shows most frequently is the ankle band with my daughter's name and birthdate. That is only because I wear sandals and shorts all the time. :)

Piercings can disgust me or turn me on. It's a matter of how many or where. I like a subtle eyebrow piercing or tongue ring, but when their cheeks are pierced and the bridge of their nose, I am gone its yucky and makes me shudder.

When I had had to remove my tongue ring, it was because I got a temp job at Wal-Mart and they informed me that I looked unprofessional. So I took it out. My belly button ring was pierced by an idiot who told me that piercing through scar tissue would be fine. He pierced through the scar from my hernia surgery when I was 1 year old and the scar grew out around the ring.

I want to get my eyebrow pierced, but where I am right now in life I don't think I can. I also have a tattoo fixed in my mind of some celtic knotwork and my son's name. It just doesn't seem right that my daughter's name is tattooed on me and his isn't.

I have no piercings or tattoos, but I could never describe my skin as virgin. There are a few scars that will still be visible in a few years time on my arm and one on the bend of my left wrist that will probably be with me for the rest of my life.

I'd rather have a tattoo.

I'll kiss it better if you get one ;)

Whether it be with ink, or life, or skin does tell the tale of our lives.

Yup.

In addition to piercings (3 right earlobe, 2 left; and nipple), I have scars from 3 c-sections, stretch marks on my tummy from carrying 3 BIG babies, plus various little scratches & dents from sports injuries & chicken pox & self mutilation (aka shaving). No tats, though.

I've seriously considered an eyebrow piercing, but right now the urge is not very strong. (That's subject to change with the weather.)

Pierced ears, one hole each, and no tattoos. I do have the normal collection of childhood scars and some new ones from burns on my leg which look a lot like hickeys from someone with a shin fetish.

I forgot to include the most important thing about my skin - as a result of severe sunburn in my late teens I cannot reveal my back to the sun for any length of time without maximum factor sun protection and I am a severe risk for skin cancer.

I do not think putting a tattoo on that damaged skin would be sensible.

How did I burn? I fell asleep while lying on deck, high summer in the Red Sea, and slept for five hours. I avoided the necessity for skin grafts by a minute amount. That was after three summers of open air activities in two years. I thought my tan was sufficient protection. It wasn't.

Hmmmm, depends on how virgin you want the skin.

My wife has a major scar down her back, no tats, but just got her Navel Pierced today. (Looks nice to me.)

Me? I'll be picking up a tat in two weeks, my first. It took some searching to find a spot on my hide where I could fit it, still have it look good, and not have it on a scar. As for piercings, I have had more than the usual amount of unintentional piercings. Blades, two bullets, CatClaw, (both animal and plant.) Glass, Barbed Wire, Nails, (both fingernails and metal nails.) as well as teeth. (Animal, and human.)

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. How many people here still have virgin skin? Meaning, no piercings and no tats? I've been thinking about getting a few piercings and even a tattoo, but it seems there is becoming an increasing shortage in the number of people with virgin skin. I've even come across those claiming to be conservative that have something.

I'm virgin... no identifiable markings in case I have to whack someone.

I live near a college... guess what the environment is like.
Sincerely,
ElSol

Okay, this is another one of those wierd fetishes I have. As soon as you talked about all of your piercings, the first thing I thought about was how hot that was. Seriously, strictly from your description of your self mutilation trend, I want to fuck you. That's just me though. I hear someone who likes that, or does things like that, I want them, badly.

It's really amazing how apparent simple things can play a role in a much larger picture. Thanks for your reply. :)

Wow... lol. That's a first. :D Thanks, I think.
Hmm, remind me to mention to you of my self mutiliation if I ever need a pick me up, LOL. :D:devil:

I've thought about getting my eyebrow pierced, and my nose.
I'm afraid though. It seems like everyone I know that has had either pierced- they've either gotten ripped out or infected. That thought bothers me.

I kinda want my other ear's cartlidge pierced, but I really dont like when people have the cartlidge in both ears pierced. (I dont know why, lol.)

Dammit, now I want another piercing! LOL. :D

Only my ears are pierced.

I have no tattoos.

I do have a small mole above my right breast, however. Does that count for something?

A beauty mark!

I have no piercings, tats or body mods of any kind. I do have a pretty decent number of scars, one of which was half-way intentional.

I do plan on getting one tat and one piercing. More depending on how those go for me.

Like Og and some others, I have no tattoos or piercings of any kind, and probably for the same reason. When I was young, and even beyond that, men just did not get their ears or anything else pierced and did not wear earrings. It never occurred to me to be a rebel and do it.

I came close to getting tattooed a few times when I was drunk but always chickened out. After a while, I just put it out of my mind. I do, of course, have a few scars, etc. but I'm sure they don't count. :D
