Hey everyone,

I'm currently writing my first story and I'm kinda stuck. Specifically I've got a case of writer's block mixed with some lack of knowledge in a certain area. My protagonist is currently doing some great foreplay and is working his way towards going down on the woman. Through this whole process I'm trying to describe how the woman has ever felt this kind of pleasure before and how it's basically making her go nuts and so forth. I'm trying to build up everything creatively and vividly so that the reader will be able to understand what the man is making her feel. However, I feel I've reached a point where there's nowhere else to go and I haven't even had her orgasm yet. Any suggestions?

Read a few lesbian stories by some of the better authors. Lucky, vella, etc. Since you are looking for a femme perspective on how it feels and seem to lack some direction, you can be sure you are getting stories from a femme perspective and since much of lesbian sex is cunnilingus, you canbe sure to find some descriptions that might stimulate your own imagination or give direction.

I don't understand. If he's doing such a great job, why doesn't she just come already?

I'd have to see what you've written, but I get the uncomfortable feeling that you might have spent a lot of time on describing what he's doing and not enough on what she's feeling, aside from, "It feels good. It feels really good!" and so you're stuck with him having used all his best moves and her still not there yet.

I think that any such reading should begin with Ms. Thomas, as there is no one better in the genre.

The very first thing I did when I came to Lit was read a bunch of the author's stories. You'll not find a group of writers much better than the ones we have here. Have a problem? Can't figure out what's wrong? Find the theme you're writing for and pick a story from one of the great author's here that matches that theme. You'll will most definately be inspired. If it doesn't help, set the story aside for a little while. Let the perculoator of your mind pop a few ideas back and forth sub-conciously. Then when the inspiration comes back again, write up a storm. For me personally I find that helping others by editing and offering suggestions on their stories gives me great insight as to what my story needs.

Most importantly when you first start writing, in my opinion, just get it out, get it down, clean it up, then set it free.

Write down all the garbled mess that wants to come out. Don't worry about it being pretty. Get the idea down before it goes away.

Once you have your main idea down you can clean it up. Fix all of your errors and mistakes as well as set the mood and tone better if you need to.

Once you have it to a point where YOU are happy with it, set it free. Don't worry about it anymore. If you feel you did your best and are happy with the results, that's all that matters. A completed story has a life of its own. Just like we want to care for our children, we want to care for our stories. They have to be their own and be free. Just be happy knowing that you created something unique and special. Then do it all over again.

I know I probably didn't help much, but that's how I feel.
