Violet Wand...?

So I got to play some this weekend with a device that shocks both persons using it. I think it's called a violet wand, any one else know anything about this thing?

I've researched it some, I plan on buying one when the time is right, they are a bit expensive but can be lots of fun if you know what you're doing. It can be very painful is used wrong, so make sure you know what you're doing before using one.

From what i've read, the violet wand was a device created in Germany used for medical reasons, it was thought to be able to heal certain things. Now it's mostly just used within the BDSM lifestyle as a pleasure device, though it can be used for pain/punishment I personally do not believe that's what it should really be used as.
