For those of you that have never seen it, you really should if you get the opportunity. It is probably the most emotionally moving placed I have ever been. The rows upon rows of names staring back at you from the black granite give the place a presence that cannot be described, it has to be felt. It's a place where the normally unsentimental are moved to leave tokens and the unemotional are moved to tears. I certainly was.

It's a very poignant reminder of the true human cost of war.

Wow. I didn't realize it had been 25 years. I still recall the controversy over the design. I agree, it's powerfully moving.
 
Funny how time slips by. I visited & my soul was touched. Even though it's in "the mall", the area around it is so quiet it's like you've stepped into a church. A visit will definitely move you.
