why not just email it to them? there are sites like flickr I think you can control who can see what you post

Next to impossible. Admins see everything. Detection software scans everything. Thomas Monopoly learned the hard way.

The only safe method is an encrypted VPN connection to your friends.

or

You could winzip it with a password... or if it is big use winrar to package it over multiple parts (with a password). The file(s) could be downloaded from a hosting server such as Acelin suggested.

...but how private is private? How many other people have access to the computers of the select few?
