The problem with it is, it uses cartridges. It says there are ten available, but it would be nice to find one that you can put cd's in.

If you could just put CDs into it, it would be a DVD player and NOT a karaoke machine. The distinction lies in the lyrics display and sometimes in the lack of lead vocals on the Karaoke version.

You might look into karaoke DVDs that will play in any DVD player. She wouldn't be able to see herself singing along, but there should be a wider variety available.

No, I don't mean any cd. You can buy Karaoke cd's anywhere. He wants one that will play them!

I don't think you're going to find any that combine a video cmera and CD/MP3 capabilities in one unit.

I did notice that the "Video Starz" unit has one cartridge with 10 selctions on it. I didn't search for any additionl cartridges that are available or if the cartridges are in a format that you can create your own -- it sounds like it might be compatible with an MP3 player's memory cartridges.
