Video Games

Hello all fellow gamer here. Currently taking a break from wow and playing League of Legends.

20 hours into Final Fantasy XV and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface....

I felt that way too, but it kinda ends abruptly. Not a big story.
I've been playing through Shadow of Mordor lately. A little bit of Civ 6 and 5

Ah well, plenty to go for me.

Shadow of Mordor is a good game, although the problems I had with it is that it was buggy as hell, and also the epically long loading times. If they had spent a bit more time tweaking it, I think it would have been an excellent game.

You know what I hate about it? The Borderlands 2-esque respawning of enemies. I just fought my way through a stronghold, I don't want to turn around and have another 50-100 enemies impeding my progress

Oh god now you reminded me of that. I spent a lot of time running away and sneaking around.

Yeah, and stealth is not my expertise in games. I'm really struggling with the legendary dagger missions. No problem with the bow or sword

I'm loving Rise of the Tomb Raider atm

Great game!

I've been playing The Division recently. I haven't touched it since the beta because it was absolutely terrible back then, but they've made changes.

I was playing this quite heavily over Christmas. It's a good game, but it gets quite samey after a while. And after you get to level 30, there isn't really anywhere else to go. Still, I got a solid month where I played it a lot, so I'm not dissatisfied. It's cheap on second hand now, so I think it's worth what I paid for it.

Apparently, it's gotten a lot better since the last two patches. One of which was like within the last week?

I think the first patch you're referring to came out just before Christmas. I'll check if one has come out recently, I haven't loaded it up in a couple of weeks.

Well, I'm glad you're finally liking it. What made you have a change of heart?

Well, I stopped playing it, replayed DS1, then had the urge to play it again... was reminded of why I hated it, replayed some of DS2, wanted to try 3 again, and then I got used to it a bit.

The first time I quit, I really felt like the Undead Settlement was bullshit. The large hollows that were on steroids and had saws + the random ballista combo just pissed me off so much. After I got past that, the game got much better.

The combat is still bullshit. There is no doubt in my mind that this game was rushed.

That being said, multiplayer is a lot of fun when there isn't lag or hackers. I find myself playing in Ember form much more than playing in human form during DS1.

I'm glad you're having fun with it! I've heard great things about it.

Ubisoft is on my shit list. Watch_Dogs was the last straw for me. Assassin's Creed just needs to die, and Far Cry is literally a reskin of last year's game - even the map. And they force you to download UPlay, which is as bad as EA's Origins.

I'm looking into emulators. I played a little bit of FFXII on my PC and it worked surprisingly well. Kingdom Hearts, too. I tried some Nintendo 64 games, which was a little wonky because of the controls. I had to figure out how to turn an N64 controller into an XBONE one.

Is it really illegal if you have to find an old, functioning console AND the game to match it? It's not like I'm downloading new games. If it's 10 years old, it should be legal to download. :/

Watch_Dogs was a pile of stupid. The costume design was probably the one thing that irked me the most. They made Aiden dress like an angsty teenager even though he's like 40-something. And Clara wearing her hacker group's logo on her T-shirt totally wasn't a burn at all.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I was reluctant to buy The Division because I hated it so much during the beta, but they're putting in effort to making it better. I really dislike Ubisoft, though.

I felt the same way about Assassin's Creed for a while, until I played Syndicate. Crappy ending, but they really invigorated the franchise with that one. It still wasn't perfect, but it was a lot of fun to play, and I really enjoyed it.

FFXII is getting a upgrade for the PS4, so you might want to hold off. I still have a working PS2 though. The game I usually play on it is Def Jam: Fight for NY. To this day it still stands up as one of the best fighting games ever made.

Dark Souls 3 - All bosses. Cleared. On to NG+

So proud of you. 😭 You've come such a long way from that crotchety butthurt Ashen One, complaining about Hollow-trash posing more of a threat than the god-likes that occupy the land. 😂

I have been playing Let it Die. It's pretty bloody and i am having so much fun!

Looks fun!
