We now know that during the rally, Trump tried to call Sen. Tuberville and ask him to put a stop to ratifying Biden's win. We know this because Sen. Mike Lee, R-UT, got the call instead. That's why Lee, when it was his turn to vote on the latest Republican obstruction effort, voted "Hell, no." Not just no, hell no.

It's nearly as embarrassing for them to be doing during the rally in which Donald Trump Sr, Donald Trump Jr, Rudy Giuliani, and Michael Flynn all incited the mob to attack the nation's Capitol. It shows the world of Trump and it should just keep running and running. Yes, the correct attribution should be given to it, but it's not much less damning for its true time period. I can see why Trumpettes would want it to be suppressed, of course.

The Trumps tried--are still trying--to set off a coup. They are traitors and need to be dealt with as such. All of them.

The (non-US) news I'm watching right now are saying that:

1. The Capitol is one of the most secure buildings in the US, so it's inconceivable that it was so easily taken over

2. Some Trump supporters have foreshadowed for days-weeks the takeover of the Capitol through their social media posts. So why wasn't the secret service on board?


So, L versus R politics aside: why the hell was it so easy for rioters to get in?
