I have a video file that is just a little bit too large to burn to a cd. Does anyone know how I can cut the file down to fit it onto two cds?

I am pretty sure divx can do that if you buy the real version.

I am sure there are plenty of other editors that can do the same thing.

There's a utility I use called VirtualDub. It allows you to cut and splice mpeg and avi's (with the proper Divx codecs, which you can d/l for free from divx.com). It's not professional grade, but it allows one to change the properties of some files.

It should be able to do what you're looking for. Thing is, if you're hoping to play this back on a DVD player, you're out of luck, because I think it only saves in .avi format.

I think you can find it over at virtualdub.com

Most CD burner programs should be able to convert the altered files back to VCD format though.
