Viagra: really good news.

For those men who sometimes require the assistance of Viagra, there is good news.

After I went to my doc today to get a new prescription, the pharmacy advised me that as the Viagra copyrights have expired, generic equivalents are now available at a fraction of the cost. 16 tablets of a generic equivalent cost me £3.50. My last prescription for Viagra cost me about £90.

(Yes, on the UK National Health Service, prescriptions for me are normally free, but Viagra was only available on free prescription for those with designated medical conditions, which I don't have. So I have to pay for private prescriptions.)

I thought I should share the good news!

I've had a couple of PMs enquiring about this. The name of the generic equivalent is Sildenafil.

Sorry I can't tell you whether this applies outside the UK; you'll have to enquire with your doc or pharmacy.

Are you aware that you posted this in the Fetish board and not a general chat board?

Well, as Viagra does have to do with men's sexuality, I'd say it belongs here. ;)

Here in the states Ive been told that the time frame has been extended for several more years. You can order generic viagra or cialis from pharmacies in India at much cheaper prices but run the risk of customs confiscating your order.

Well, at least he didn't spam the site with shopping links. :)

Be fair.

I think he's providing a public service. Well done, Scotsman, this news should be on every board.

Applause

I would stand up and applaud but it has been almost 4 hours and this erection won't go away. I'm not sure my wife would call that a problem but I'm stuck here in the airport.

Just kidding.

Cheers, Scotsman, for the thread, the info, and your pm suggestions too. Much appreciated. Si.

Thanks

is 'Fetish and sexuality central', so I think it's in the right place.

I, too, thank you for your public service.

Since I live in the US, it will be a while before I can take advantage locally. But, I visit London at least twice a year and have a trip planned for late September so maybe I can find a willing UK physician to write a prescription. There are plenty of pharmacies in the neighborhood where I will be staying.

Hope it works out for you jimburr35.

You'll need a UK friend to introduce you to his/her NHS GP. Most will see US citizens, in my experience, if they've a regular patient to vouch for them. There's a great deal to be said for socialised healthcare, as opposed to what you have to suffer in the USA.

I wish you well pal.

As long as we're on the topic of Viagra, I've got a question. I don't have problems getting erections (yet), but wondered if it would make me horny?

Does it increase libido or just allow the penis to become erect?

Hi nittfagm, like you I'm interested in the answer to that one, but meanwhile I do know that for many men including me, a good herbal testosterone-booster builds up the horn factor effectively. I have taken Vitrix, made by Nutrex Research. It is a high quality Tribulus Terrestris plus other stuff. Not cheap. There are others, and a good body-building / sports-energy store will have a selection. Back to the Vitrix: the dose is six capsules a day, but I find that just two 'tips' me into feeling as horny as I did 20 years back. I guess that comes alongside being fit, having a healthy diet in general, and being on top of stress factors. Let's face it, if any of those three are out of kilter, the consequence to sexual appetite is massive for guys over 35, and that needs sorting first. That's my take on it anyway.

Cheers, Si.

Speaking of Viagra, I have heard from a couple of different people, none of whom have tried it (of course) that women can take Viagra as well for libido purposes. Apparently it does the same thing with men, increasing blood flow, etc.

I haven't ever tried it and it mostly sounds like BS to me, but anyone know if there's any truth to this?

Not that I really need it, but it does sound like it could be a fun experiment if it wouldn't give me a heart attack or damage the goodies or something.

Viagra..... not in Canada

I checked online and any meds that affect the blood pressure (like Sildenafil) are still prescription meds in Canada.

Maybe one of these days...
