The soldiers marched in step

Uniforms crisp , freshly pressed

Boots shined to impress



Seven stand straight

Weapons raised , they fire

In respect



Once , twice , then the third

Their twenty one gun

salute , is Complete



Widows cry , children weep

Mothers pray ,

Fathers stare into abyss



Soldiers salute , bands play

To those who served , and

those that lived another day.



Summer begins on this day

Warm and safe we play

Because of your service we have this day.
