Veterans Day

My deepest heartfelt gratitude to all who served, those who are in active duty, and all those family members who live the military life on bases around the world or wait here at home for their loved one's return for time on leave.

Son of a WWII vet, B17 belly gunner who flew missions out of England. He passed of natural causes and old age at 96 in 2018.

Man I would have loved to have been able to buy that man a steak dinner and talk about his service. Please let his family know we are grateful for his service

Thank you for this post! 🇺🇸 Navy Vet here. Wife is also. I am the son of a WWII veteran as well. He was 1 of 8 brothers that all were in the war and they ALL came back. Incredible. He drove a truck(logistics). Had 15 Nazis surrender to him and his co driver toward the end of the war. They wanted out. Anyway...Thank YOU just for posting this brother.👍,..and I salute your father...I can't even imagine.

Fucking unbelievable....all 8 came back...your family is truly blessed!!!! Men of that generation just blow me away! Since my dad passed, I've been obsessed with watching "WWI Iin Color".... regular guys stepping up,,,putting their lives on the line. My Dad was lucky as it goes for most ball turret belly gunners....40% did not make it.....me, too. can't even imagine!!!!

All my great-great-grandfathers fought in the war, too. We have a big family tree and I know about each one in detail. I recently wrote about "why veterans day is important" and used https://studymoose.com/free-essays/why-veterans-day-is-important for that. It's just not everyone understands or appreciates it. If you don't respect those who have fought for your country before, then the point of defending it in the future? People's motivation would disappear and that would be the end of it!
Wow, a military family!
