Tonight I have a very unhappy kitten. This afternoon when we got home from work we let the cats out onto the patio as is usual. Soon after we heard a yelp and when I turned I saw Squeek hanging from the screen by one paw, and holding the other away from everything. When I looked closer I saw a small, flattened wasp in the corner of the screen.
It seems Squeek saw this wasp and attacked, as is normal for a kitten. She trapped it in the sorner of the screen and must have batted at it and gotten stung for her efforts.
This happened four hours ago. She is still hopping about on three paws while trying to keep her sore one from touching anything. Right now she is laying on my lap with her injured paw hanging away from everything. (It's not swollen so I'm reasonably sure she isn't going to have a reaction.)
Talk about a sad looking kitten though.
She is one of those that likes to sleep on the bed with my wife and myself. I suppose I'll have to carry her in and set her on the bed tonight. (When she wanted to climb onto my lap she sat on the floor and meowed until I picked her up.)
Who needs kids, I have cats.
