Tonight I have a very unhappy kitten. This afternoon when we got home from work we let the cats out onto the patio as is usual. Soon after we heard a yelp and when I turned I saw Squeek hanging from the screen by one paw, and holding the other away from everything. When I looked closer I saw a small, flattened wasp in the corner of the screen.

It seems Squeek saw this wasp and attacked, as is normal for a kitten. She trapped it in the sorner of the screen and must have batted at it and gotten stung for her efforts.

This happened four hours ago. She is still hopping about on three paws while trying to keep her sore one from touching anything. Right now she is laying on my lap with her injured paw hanging away from everything. (It's not swollen so I'm reasonably sure she isn't going to have a reaction.)

Talk about a sad looking kitten though.

She is one of those that likes to sleep on the bed with my wife and myself. I suppose I'll have to carry her in and set her on the bed tonight. (When she wanted to climb onto my lap she sat on the floor and meowed until I picked her up.)

Who needs kids, I have cats.

Poor kitty.

Yeah she's very unhappy.

When the others were playing tag and chasing each other around the place she just lay there looking miserable. When I picked her up she held her paw out and away from everything and just lay there soaking up the attention.

Now she's laying in my lap and just relaxing, while holding her injured paw out and away from everything. I know that she's going to b sleeping on th bed all night, just as I know she's going to be keping us awake wanting attention.

Poor little guy. One of my boys had what looked like an abcess to me earlier this summer. Vet diagnosed as an infected sting or bite, gave a shot and antibiotics. Curiosity just gets the better of this one. He got caught by something this last winter and had a lucky escape, deep wounds but not deadly and didn't hit anything vital.

Hope it gets better soon

Sorry to hear about your kitten Cat. Hope it gets better soon. It's bad enough when your the size of an adult. It must really hurt for something as small as a kitten. Good thing is that by tomorrow all will be forgotten, except hopefully the memory of the danger of swatting wasps

Heroic Kitty!

It was incredibly brave of her to save you all from that wasp! She took the sting for you. I think she deserves something very special for being such a hero :rose:

Update,

Squeek is doing quite well. She is walking and running amok with no limp. (Running amok? I caught her sitting on the flashing for the blinds in the area I call the den, ten feet above the floor.)

Today though all of the cats are very attention oriented, every one of them seems to want to climb into my lap and be cuddled.
