A djinn/demon/angel/something appears to the protagonist and asks if he (or she) wants revenge. The protagonist then recollects some event or other (rape, adultery, abuse, or whatever). The protagonist responds with a yes. The entity asks, "Would you like for him to truely understand what you went through? To go through every piece of hell that you have just experienced?" The protagonist responds with a yes. The entity answers, "Vengeance has already been granted." And then the protagonist's memory comes flooding back, and he realizes that the entire experience was the victim's revenge, granted by the djinn/demon/angel/something.
