Or, rather, NBC refused to run this ad during the Superbowl. Whadda think? Is it because it's a PETA ad, or because they don't think football fans are interested in vegetables?

Veggie Love

I got a laugh out of it. Cool ad. PETA are batshit crazy, but they've made some funny ads. I think that maybe they make ads knowing that they will be banned in order to get more attention and to play the persecution card.

NBC released a statement saying that they chose not to run the PETA ad due to 1) an injunction filed by Victoria's Secret and 2) they did not want to risk another wardrobe malfunction.

I saw the ad and it was pretty lewd. That's the reason they won't show it. It had -- believe it or not -- a naked woman in a walk-in bath tub rubbing broccoli all over her body in a very suggestive way. It was pretty hot, if you're into broccoli sex.

You might call it canola but I still remember when it was rape seed oil.

What a way to steam broccoli! :D

Okay, but seriously...what good is being "ethical" if you're going to be manipulative in that way? I mean, come on... how manipulative is that ad? And they want the "ethical" treatment of animals? Ironically, they're appealing to the most "animal" aspects of men. Hmm... ethical? Really?

Also...what studies? Sources, please, PETA.

I have a real problem believing that someone who WON'T EAT MEAT has better sex. I mean... HELLO?

I find the pastrami to be the most sensual of all the salted cured meats...

This is my take on it as well. I can't imagine that PETA was really willing to blow a few million dollars for a single 30-second spot during a tv show that many if not most of their audience would not be watching.

They got/are getting fabulous amounts of publicity all the same - which is free in this case.
