Variations is back! ❤️

It’s been a little while.

Our original host has been gone for more than six months now, and I’ve thought a lot about his thread and what he created there. Variations was never just a place to post pictures. It became a comfortable little corner for people who wanted to share something without feeling like they had to fit a certain mold.

Some people went there to be sexy.
Some were there to be silly.
Some shared something beautiful.
Some were testing their courage and hitting reply for the first time.

And I think a lot of people simply liked having a place where they could say, “I took this. I like this. Maybe someone else will too.”

I miss that.

So, with a lot of respect for Saltfountain, the one who started it and the spirit he created it with, I’d like to bring Variations back.

The idea is still pretty simple: every Monday, there will be a theme to give us a little creative nudge.
Take it seriously. Take it sideways. Make it funny. Make it pretty. Make it suggestive. Show skin or don't show a damn thing.
You can photograph yourself, something you made, something you noticed, somewhere you went, something that made you smile.
There are a million ways to interpret a theme.
And if you're someone who has wanted to participate but never quite felt brave enough to post? Maybe this can be your little push.

There won't be a contest.
There won't be a popularity ranking.
And there certainly won't be a requirement to get naked to belong here.

Just pictures, creativity, curiosity and people being willing to appreciate what someone else chose to share.

I'd also really like to preserve something important about the original spirit of his thread:

Let's appreciate the picture, not just the body in it.

Sexy is welcome. Attraction is welcome. Hell, we're adults. But a photograph can be interesting because of the lighting, composition, story, humor, vulnerability, setting or the person behind it.
Not every picture needs to become an invitation for the same five-word thirsty comment.
Let's give each other a little more than that.

I'm not here to rewrite what Variations was.
I'm here to keep the door open to the people who found something good there.

So welcome back, old friends.
And if you're new?
Pull up a chair.
Let's see what we can make of it ❤️

Variations - new theme dropping every Monday

A little heads-up for anyone who remembers and loved the original Variations… It’s back!

If Variations was your little corner to share, lurk, get creative or just appreciate what other people came up with, come on back in.
And if you know someone who enjoyed the original, send them this way! Let’s get the old gang back together and make some room for some new faces, too.

Watch this space - the first theme drops Monday morning

Come play 🤭

Great stuff, thanks MWP for all your hard work in getting this going again

On the rare occasions our scheduling works out, these gaming sessions renew my social battery

comfort zone - this group started from me posting on a local community page looking for people who wanted to play d&d. From 50+ responses we landed a pretty awesome group of 4 new friends)

I love this so much 😍 I wish I could find a group locally to learn how to play. It’s so intimidating though.

Check out local comic stores or gaming stores! Sometimes they know if beginner groups :)
It’s super intimidating to start but then you realize everyone else is just as needy and awkward as you and just want to have fun telling a collaborative story together

Our public library has a group every week and it's open to anyone! I'd check there too. 😁
