Vanilla to D/s??

This is quite a different thing. Bdsm is sex, pedophilia is a mental illness, child molestation is a crime, so I really don't see, what this has to do with the topic at hand.

"If any person carnally knows in any manner any brute
animal, or carnally knows any male or female person by the
anus or by or with the mouth, or voluntarily submits to
such carnal knowledge, he or she shall be guilty of a Class
6 felony."

So please, don't come up with the law.

Despite this, it is not a different thing. Once you accept the fact that knowledge can hurt a relationship you are just bargaining about what "acceptable" and "unacceptable" information should be for an amazing relationship. This is a path to nowhere.

Maybe you and I (and some other people) have a different opinion on what an amazing relationship is like, but in my opinion open communication ranks pretty high on the requirements.

Open communication does not automatically imply slapping the partner with the truth. The OP didn't ask how to hide bruise marks from the amazing partner.

I did say it isn't illegal where I live in. I don't know about laws where you or the OP live. And like Furry pointed out in the other thread, there are many sex related things which are illegal (to paraphrase her - most things except sex in missionary position), such as anal and oral sex like in your quote as well, but people are hardly thrown into jail for these acts. Or is it really common there for people having to go to court just because they take it up their butt? Besides anal and oral do not bdsm make, they're just as much part of vanilla sex.

No, instead the OP asked how to let the boyfriend know about their interest. So in this context open and honest communication might work pretty damn well.

But can't we just agree to disagree? I find it strange that someone wouldn't be able to tell about their interest in bdsm to their partner in a relationship, which is great for them and. There's no need to start the conversation about needles and fire flogging, obvioulsy.
