why is this happening to her?
Last night I was thinking of the tragedies that Vana has had to live through, and was reminded of Job, that most puzzling and troubling book of the Bible. This is not the place to contemplate its possible lessons, but the following occurred to me: Vana has had more than her quota of tragedy, but she is also possessed of tremendous blessings - a wonderful daughter, a man who has the goodness to show his love by giving her the space she needs, a stimulating career, and friends like you, Fem, and like Sam.

A few days ago I joked that the world had seemed to turn "black and white" when you two went on holiday, and when you returned so did the "technicolor." Vana seems to live a life that is more "technicolor" than most people, with higher highs and lower lows. I don't know what this means, and it certainly does not take away one iota from the pain of the tragedies she has suffered. Also, I'm sure her day-to-day existance is filled with same minor satisfactions, frustrations, pleasures and pains the rest of us experience.

Maybe it just means this: When her life comes to its conclusion, hopefully not less than about 60 years from now, Vana will be able to look back on a life well and fully lived. She will have no regrets for the things she didn't do.

Update:

The baby is fine but she isn't. She is still bleeding and they can't find out where yet. She is getting blood and meds and tests but is very weak. Her OBGYN is there now.

All prayers and thoughts are welcome and most appreciated. Thank you. :rose:

Sam.

Times like these I wish I was a praying man.

If you can't pray, you can think positively. You can wish, you can hope, and you can whisper words to the universe. It doesn't matter who hears them, if anyone at all.

Whispering now. :rose:

They are out of surgery....but not out of the woods. Both are in distress. :(
That's almost typical of pregnant women and the fetuses when going into emergency surgery... Give it a little time.

Thanks, Fem. A whole lot of people out here are either praying, or doing whatever our equivalent is, as hard as we can.
