why does it take so long??

It's major abdominal surgery, sweetie... they have to follow all the procedures they would for any major surgery... baby's usually out in about 20 minutes, though... so my guess is the little one has already been whisked to the NICU. Did they put her completely under (general) or give her a spinal (so she'd be awake for the operation) do you know? That will effect recovery time, too...

That's normal. She'll be in recovery at least that long, too.
This is why I love you so much...Is there anything you don't know everything about? BTW, I was going to tell you, but didn't have the chance. I went to pick up my daughter for halloween, only to discover her mom dressed her in a cat suit (actually, she was supposed to be a leopard). The cutest thing ever. I thought of you and cracked up.

She has placenta previa and there is some arterial bleeding, she'll probably be under.

not sure exactly what time she went in but its been over an hour

I guess it could be a while. I'll be around for a bit.

I don't know if it helps but I know a lady who had a emergency c section at 27 weeks. Both of them came out okay. Her son is now 2 years old and healthy.

It is scary just hearing that. And honestly I am scared and worried about them both but I also feel as if things will turn out fine. I don't have a logical reason except I believe in her spirit...she has one of those rare spirits that shine with love and hope and strength. I think the baby has that spirit too. So, I'm choosing to put my faith in them both and support them that way.

Does that even make sense?

I'm online all night and await any word you get...And my thoughts are with her and you for your worries... :rose:

(Sorry no candles at work, but lots of energy flowing her way)

I just got off the phone with someone who delivered at 25 weeks and has a very healthy, precocious, 8 year-old son now. She's really making me believe everything will be OK.
