I storyboard all sorts of ideas in my notebooks just to keep my mind working. I've had this idea for awhile now but realize I like to play with it but dont love it enough to commit to writing it. Also, I am light in my vampire fiction knowledge so Id likely be torn to shreds for not being genre enough.
Young guy/girl couple. Boy is the dominant of the pair, pressures her about sex. Can culminate in her getting out of the car at lookout point (wherever) He decides to leave her to cool off or doesn't want to reward her princess type behavior, etc.
Shes attacked in the wood, turned that very night.
He realizes the error of his ways and wants to mend the relationship. He (either immediately or at a time later) leans of her now being a vampire. He loved her all along (the *fight* was just a bump in the road in his mind) and feels responsible for what happened to her.
They stay a couple but in the switch, it is now HE who is the sub. Shes now hypersexual and physically stronger by an undeniable margin.
Perhaps you can work in her learning to control her new found feelings and also getting an understanding for where he was before the turning. (tying to control his)
Of course, dom-sub runs throughout but it doesnt have to be the typical affair. Perhaps they just try to settle into the roles that keep their relationship strong and working for them both.
I thought highly of the concept of his aging. Obviously as a human, he gets old and fights the "becoming more and more her sub" battle every day.
Would be fascinating to see where she stops the life process for him (or if she even does) and how that readjust their roles yet again.
I will admit to this being too small in scope for the typical vampire audience (what Ive read seems to be grandiose in the worlds and cannon)
I think thats why I liked it so much though. Its an offshoot of "sickness and in health til death do us part" except neither party is weakened by disease, illness, accident, etc. One just grows exponentially stronger overnight while the other one, try as he might, falls further and further behind due to the passage of time.
Anyway. as I said, I won't write it but if someone wishes to or even just to incorporate it into something else, that's good.
It felt a waste just languishing in my Scribner. If it finds life or even only if it inspires someone else to create something or even solve a problem in their own work , then it was worth the post.
Brainstorm, rip it to shreds, talk amongst yourselves, whatever you like. It's out there in the universe now to be used as any and all see fit.
