Vampire novels.

Are there too many whining Main characters in this genre?

Am I the only person that finds the amount of whining main characters a downer in this genre of novels?

I start with examples like Louis from the Anne Rice books and Anita Blake from the Laurell K. Hamilton books.

I love Vampire novels, but I do think they do seem a bit.. whiny.
That's why I started writing my own.

Now to just get the guts to find a publisher.

I like the novels too. But there are very few that have everything I enjoy in them. The Anita Blake books are good reads if you can look past some of the whiny bits. But then to there are more than the vamps in them.
