Valentine's Day Contest

Greetings fellow authors!

I hope that the New Year brings you love, happiness and of course great sex.

In my current lay-off (I build Jets for the rich and famous) I found the time and the nerve to enter my first contest.

“Valentine’s Day 2004”

I have donned my suit of armor and am prepared to take a bashing. LOL!

Here is the link.

I hope someday to acquire better skills as a writer.

Where can I buy some of those Killer Muffins? I hear they are packed full of skill.

Peace, Jmt

Greetings Jmt.

I found a few things somewhat awkward in the story.

Firstly, every sentence has its own paragraph. This makes it a bit awkward to read - not as awkward as if it had been just one paragraph, but still...awkward.

Second, there are some grammatical errors - commas, mixing up "is" and "are", that kind of stuff. Some editorial assist would have helped.

And it's usually 9/11 (even though that's ridiculous, just like the soddin' Americans mixing up the days and months - should be 11/9!) not 911 - had me wonderin' a while, what the police had to do with anything  ;)

Thanks for the comments Summer.

Like I said, I have a lot to learn about this craft.

So I listen and try to correct things with each new story.

Thanks Again, J

Romance.
I've forgotten.
What does that mean?
Aw, Svenskamou... You and I should have a cyber date on Feb. 14.

Perdita :(

Romance,

That means caring about who you are doing....

Not just caring about what you are doing.

Peace, J

If you want to know what romance is, ead my Val. Day entry. There is a lot of sex in it, but all at the end. Mostly it is romance.

What if you haven't done or been done since last summer?

I'll take you up on that offer, P.

Mine is almost no sex but lots of romance. I prefer to leave it mostly implied when it's a story about falling in love, not about lust.

I've managed to get some hate mail on my story.....Cool!

At least someone is reading it.

I've noticed that there are two types of readers/critics on this site.

1. Those who read the story for it's content and overlook the technical aspects.

2. Those who can only see the technical and not the story itself.

I'm not saying either is right or wrong, I just find it interesting that almost everyone here falls into one of those categories.

You might have noticed this also.

Cheers, Jmt

Try writing humor and satire...I wrote another one for this contest and it's bombing. Hell I'm so damn stubborn I just keep writing them.

I adored your story! It was funny and a genuinely hard sell to get enrollment numbers up. I would like to see a course catalogue though. Anthropology and Anatomy for Beginners would be prerequisites for all I'd think. Thanks for sharing it cj.

Thanks a lot champagne...I should have thought of those courses...lol:rose:

Hubby suggested we'd go shopping next time he comes over. He wants us to change the 2 bedspreads I have on my bed for one queen size bedspread, so we can snuggle together under it.

To me, that's romance.

Not just the cuddling part, but the let's-invest-in-our-future-together part.
