What a beautiful tribute to a great president. And at 4 billion dollars what a bargain.

Pass the monkey wrench ...

*I have no idea if that makes sense ...*

USS Albert Gore is in the works... it's a military ballot interceptor.

USS Ronald Reagan???

Will the crew remember where they are going??

*ducking the tossed tomatoes*

Great Line!

And I imagine the USS GW Bush will be a stealth vessel, you know, NO THERE THERE.

Why name a boat after a man who's still living? That's like being buried alive. I guess the U.S. has given up on poor Ronald Regan and is just pretending he's dead already.

You're sooo cruel!

I really didn't mean it in that cruel of a way. But looking back, yeah, that's a mean thing to say. I was just trying to say that it seems that they are just pretending he's dead and that it was wrong to do give him a monument before he's actually gone.

How about the USS Bill Clinton?

First of all, it would have to be a submarine.

The captain could just tell the entire crew to "go down."

It looks a lot like a big fat dick.

It could spend its time submerged, doing anything it wanted to, and people would just ignore it. Hey, it worked before!

It would be the first US vessel completely financed by wealthy indedpendent contributors, who of course had nothing to gain from their generosity!

If something goes wrong, just blame the military. They're all a bunch of Republican-voting assholes anyway.

Sorry if it sounds harsh. Just venting.

At least you have your facts straight!

Looks a lot like a cigar too... a Trojan horse for warm wet ports. I did not have war with that country... (wagging finger)

Funny how he always called on them to pull his fat ass out of the fire.

I guess in our "kinder, gentler" world, we can always spare a few "narrow-minded gun-freaks" when the ol' approval ratings start slipping!

I'm having difficulty hearing what the gods have to say at the moment, someone's talkin real loud.

*Air wing not included.
Some assembly required.
Not all aircraft for use with all sets.
Dealer sets actual prices.
Offer void where prohibited.

Okay, I got carried away. Sorry.

I'm just a little tired of people taking cheap shots at Reagan, while viewing Clinton as a great president.

True, Reagan had his faults. People have certainly spent the last 20 years pointing them out again and again... and again...

I just think Clinton was a great politician, a mediocre president, and a bad man. Other than the economy, what really happened during his term? Scandal, deception, disgrace.

There I go again...

Uh, don't we write dirty stories around here or something?

I just dislike the idea of people taking cheap shots at Reagan, while looking at Clinton as such a great man.

Clinton and Reagan both were outstanding communicators, each in his own way. Both mobilized a faithful following that by and large remained loyal to them even in the face of embarassing discoveries about their time in office. More people cringe at Clinton's peccadilloes but serious students of government are likely to find Reagan's extra-legal shenanigans Iran-Contra Affair constitutionally more troubling. Reagan was never much more than an idealogue who presented a grandfatherly image that many Americans found comforting. Clinton was a wily, astute politician who was smarter than virtually all his adversaries and with more resilience than the Energizer bunny. That he is a deeply flawed man can be acknowledged without diminishing his capacity to handle complex issues, occasionally with brilliance and panache. Depending on your political bent, you can love or hate either of these men.

It just so happens that Clinton is still very much on people's mind and the Gipper is afflicted with a disease that makes criticizing him under any circumstance appear mean spirited. I guess the fact there has been so much of the hatred spewed in Clinton's direction over the past eight years, make a bit more understandable some of the harsh words directed at Ronnie and GW.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

As you can see, you caught me in mid-edit. I didn't want to get too deep; this is just one of the few topics that gets under my skin.
