Use Global Warming Books Instead.

As a retired secondhand bookdealer and helper at a charity book shop, my response is:

Why not?

I gave away 7 tonnes of books when I closed my shop. Almost all have now been sold for charity but some are unsaleable.

The charity book shop sells a tonne of books per month for pulping and re-use as paper. They get about 10 pounds a tonne, but the books are collected free of charge.

Many unsaleable books end up in landfill tips. Burning them is a better use.

But there is a health warning. Some glues and binding materials can give off toxic fumes if not burnt completely. Burning in a wood stove is probably OK. Burning on an open fire could be fatal.
