Tips for the search function ............

Always go straight to Advanced Search

Even if your aware of key words in the title switch the settings to 'search entire posts'.

Change settings also to show results by posts.


I agree the Search Function can be frustrating however now I accept that there are certain limitations with the program and the above simple steps often get me the result I had desired its quite satisfactory .

Um, I do all that. Doesn't make a difference if you have it show results by post cause I never get any results.

To prove it I just did a search for Submissive Thought of the Day. I put all posts, I did a very broad search. What'd I get? Nauda.

*nods* I do the same thing. It still doesn't give me what I'm looking for, a lot of the time. Most times, I end up doing rather vague searches, then reading thru hundreds upon hundreds of posts, trying to find what I'm looking for. Or I give up. it depends on how dedicated/obsessed I am on finding the answer I'm seeking.

But it doesn't work for me, and it's not cause of anything I do. It works for some people than others, and since . . . . lemme see I'm not the only one claiming this I guess that means that I'm, um . . . right?

I'm making my own personal list on people who can work with the 'search' function and whom I can bother if it doesn't work for me.
Rebecca is on, so are AA and RJ. Gracie isn't.
So all of you bragging with how great you mastered this function, prepare for a lot of work coming up.

Heh. I took a break for a couple years or so. When I came back, nobody knew me anymore. The GB tends to change that way. I tended to avoid the melodramas over there, and still do. As far as here...well, I've not exaxtly established myself. I'm too ignorant to make any clever points yet. LOL

And I've talked to you a time or two, over in another forum. I just go by a different name there.

I'll tell you.. it's amazing how many people here are disguised under new nics and have duped people.

Here, I only go by this,. After 6 years, I don't feel like changing. The ones who know me well here and there all know. It comes from running with the same people everywhere.
