A few weeks ago I asked for all the prayers good thoughts and anything else I could to help my 10 year old Granddaughter who had a tumor removed from her lower abdominal area. After the first operation they found it to be cancer, but was unable to ID the type of cancer making treatment hard to prescribe. so it was sent off to another lab. They too could not ID the type of cancer. But was able to tell that the whole tumor was not removed.
So back to the hospital went Jamie. It was not looking good halving to go back in and to here how deep the Doctor thought he was going to have to go to remove it all. her abdominal muscle would have to be cut and then a mesh would have to be put inside of the girl so her side would look normal. We got lucky that day and the Doctor was able to get it all and only had to go through three layer of skin.
IN the mean time all the samples had been sent yet to another lab. this time to St. Judes. When she went back yesterday for a post op to see how she was healing the doctor has the results from St. Judes.
the type of cancer she had is called myxosiero sarcoma I could have the spelling wrong. From what I under stand it is a very rare type of cancer. It is mostly found in about 2% of all people with Cancer and then mostly in older adults in their bones and joints. There s only two case studies on record. It is also a very aggressive cancer. The Doctor thinks we may have a good chance with this because she had it in her abdominal area and not in her bones and test show that it was all gotten. So for the next three years anyway, ever three months the poor kid has to go back up to Indianapolis and be checked to see if it has returned.
After all she been through and never complained, never tried to be a bother to anyone. she finely showed that she was sacred yesterday when she asked if she was going to die. I think all of are hearts where in our thought when she asked that even the doctors.
