I am fairly new to Literotica and have made my share of mistakes. In one instance I uploaded the incorrect file for publication. If not for the comments there is no telling how long the wrong story would have been posted. I uploaded the correct story, but I don't know how to update everyone.

Is there a way to update followers?

Is there a way to respond to a specific comment, either privately or publicly?

I don't delete negative comments unless:
1. The comment is an attack aimed at me instead of the story
2. It is obvious the commentator never bothered to read the story

Any time you update your story-side profile, everyone who follows you will receive a notification. So, you can use part of your bio as a rolling update mechanism. Just stick a date on there, put in the update, and save it.

That doesn't mean everyone who follows you will read it, but they'll at least know something on your bio changed.

For now, you can only respond to comments by making your own public comment. Threaded comments aren't yet implemented ( though planned )

Few people use the number of comments as any kind of selection criteria, so don't trouble yourself over "artificially inflating" that number if you wish to respond to comments. Nobody really cares.

As to responding privately, that depends entirely upon whether they're a registered account. If they are, you can reply privately via. their member feedback, or via a PM on the forum, if they're active here.

I recommend you check out the Author's Hangout as a source of information. Click on the highlighted "Everything FAQ" thread and you can get many questions answered. Scroll through the other threads below and you may see questions that you have raised by others.

If you have followers, it can be difficult to know if they are actually reading your stories. They will get your updates, but they may be busy or distracted by something else. It would be nice if even half of them left a comment or favorites a story, but I've never seen anything close to that. It's more like one or two will actually leave something to indicate that they liked the story or even read it at all.

Ridding yourself of a follower?

Anyone know if it’s possible to rid yourself of a follower and stop them getting notifications of your stories? I’ve got some followers who fall into that category. I’m thinking along the same lines as when you unfriend someone on Facebook and they never know.

I stopped following someone months ago (and they know and know why) but started following them again a few days ago. They’ve obviously got the notification but I’d told them already. But can it be done the other way round? I’m sure there are many writers who would like to edit their list of followers particularly the ones who are following umpteen people.
