"The Renaissance Festival" just south of Minneapolis is a blast. Where else do you get to throw soft, raw tomatoes at a "Ramlick" type barker. There is plenty of live entertainment, hot turkey legs, ale, magicians, and vicious insults. Good family fun. I recommend.

The most wonderful thing I ever did on vacation was in County Sligo, Ireland. On a really gorgeous Sunday morning in March, I took a nice stroll up Knocknarea to Misgaun Medb, and sat on top of the cairn for about an hour and a half, watching the sheep and the clouds and the bees.

It was a very special day.

If you ever try it, and the path is washed out a bit, follow the sheep. They know where they are going.

vicarious vacations

Purple Haze I laughed with you, felt one of those soft tomatoes, took aim and saw the expression on the barker's face as he laughed as it struck him on the side. CreamyLady, I see the trail, the peaceful pastures, the lushness of the isle, and the sheep working their way up the path. Thanks.

I learned to become "hip" and clued in thanks to my really really experienced mentor Purple Haze. His sarcasm rubbed off on me and now I get to be a smart ass just like him and hang with the rest of the Ass-tray gang.
