Unusual junk food combos..

I grew up with my grandmother baby-sitting me for the better part of the day.

Nothing like a cup of herbal tea and a cream cheese and jelly sandwich to start the day.

:p

Ms. Collie - I deeply apologize if I offended you or your grandmother in any away. In any case, the  is a sad thing to see.

My grandmother baby-sat me when I was young as well. For her, it wasn't cream cheese and jelly - it was things like blood sausage (if you don't know, don't ask) and other parts of a slaughtered pig that I don't even want to bring up right now. And no, blood sausage did not catch on with me.

Just teasing.

Hey, you asked!

I thought I was the only one who did that!!! I always order my cheeseburgers with no pickle and no onion so that it hasn't been sitting on the warmer for twenty minutes...Then I stuff as many fries as I can onto the burger...

;)

crunchy peanut butter on toast with strawberries and/or bananas toasted with some blue cheese and freshly ground pepper served with chips (for the non-english: fries) which are dipped into a sweet and sour sauce.

I know I'm disgusting but it is just soooooooooo yummy.

oh... and Burger stuffed with Doritos :D

McDonalds fries dipped in honey, or bbq sauce.

Mashed Potatoe's with Corn (not creamed) and gravy

hmm... yeah, I am NOT very adventurous when it comes to food. Not at all, not even a lil bit.

Ooo... brown suger and syrup both on pancakes, waffles, n french toast. Yum. I have a realllly bad sweet tooth. ;)

i put pepper on a lot of stuff. my favorite "odd" things to put pepper on are buttered popcorn and ketchup & french fries. i can't eat salami any more (damn those nitrites, damn them to hell! ) but when i could i would wrap a slice of salami around a piece of chedder or mozzorella cheese. yum yum. i accidentally found out at the dining hall that brown gravy on white rice doesn't taste bad either

I have a few different combinations that are odd.

I always drink milk when I eat potato chips...my family thinks I am nuts.
French fries and mayonnaise, not Miracle Whip.
Peanut butter and onion sandwiches taste a lot better than they sound.
Gilly,I agree corn on top of mashed potaoes and gravy is delicious.
and last salt on watermelon tastes really good too. Something about the salt makes it taste sweeter. Doesn't make sense but it does. Oh yeah,Salt on apples is good too.

Okay one of my alltime favs.

McDonalds fries, dipping each fry into a chocolate shake.... mmmm

The other came about by accident, but is gross. I love Peanut butter sandwiches. When I was little my grandmother used to make me liverwurst and swiss. One day i couldn't decide what i wanted so I mixed them together a peanut butter ,liverwust and swiss sandwich. Now that's a different taste. :)

I prefer dipping Wendy's fries in a chocolate frosty....mmmmm

Another favorite is grilling a peanut butter and jelly in butter....that's a delicasy!

I out ketchup on EVERYTHING. I love it on white rice. You have to mix it all up nice so the rice turns pink. Yummy! Ketchup on mashed potatoes, chicken, anything.........

I forgot cottage cheese and jelly. Any kind will do,but Strawberry Jam is best. Tastes kind of like yogurt!!

This isn't a wierd combination, but it does make the all-time list of great junk food combos...

Thin-crust cheese pizza with a tall, cold glass of Coke...great while watching a movie.

Here is some of my favs to mix..some of them are not bad..

I like a tomato and mayo sandwich on bread..
Definitely like salt on my watermelon..YUM
I like putting mustard in gravy(yes gravy you have for breakfast) My dad taught me that..
I like ketchup in mashed potatoes
A grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich is good

I think that is all. This is a good thread..thanks for posting it.

I won't eat this myself but it is one of the strangest combos I've heard...peanut butter and tomato sandwich.

Not sure about the dipping the fries into sundea topping but how about the fries in honey. And finally someone who understands that McD's fries go IN the burger!

A red vine is a red licorice that is hollow and sealed on both ends. Alot of people use a vine as a straw by biting the ends off and sticking it into a soda or drink can.

There Twizlers in the USA, good with ginger ale
Also Candy canes with ginger ale
Pop Corn and Milk Duds

Hi all...
some of the weirder ones I know of:

I had a friend that dipped Onion Rings into her vanilla shake. I always thought that was weird.

My grandmother used to make me breakfast of sliced banana's and orange juice, served like cereal.

As a kid, my husband used to each peanut butter and miracle whip sammiches. Eww..

Salt will enhance the flavor of most foods, even sweet ones. French fries are heavily salted, so they "go" with anything.

My family used to save unpopped popcorn kernels, grind them, and add milk, salt and sugar. Since there was never a lot, it was a special treat.

I was pleased to discover a taste combination by accident, and it was a familiar one. Chocolate mixed with lemon gives the flavor of Tootsie Rolls.

Spaghettio's, hamberger, and pork and beans mixed together and baked with cheese on top

I'm noticing a trend here....

Anyone else notice that McDonalds fries can be dipped in just about anything??? ;)
