We've recently given Adam&Eve our business. Today, we are disturbed by the junk mail that have begun to arrive from the porn industry. It started this week. Yesterday's was a 50% off coupon from Adam&Eve. Today, it was from a completely different company, and far more explicit. It even said "sexually explicit ad" on the front, and inside was an booklet of adult DVD's with explicity photos. How to stop this?

We get our neighbour's mail from time to time, and we shudder to think that one of these would be misplaced and delivered to one of our neighbours. What if the neighbours' kids open the mail first? ARGH!! Our relationship with our neighbours is fine as it is, and we'd like to leave it as it is.

So, has this happened to anyone besides us? How did you deal with this? Can this be stopped? Pray tell yes.

In case you are wondering, we never ever agree to or ask for mail order catalogs, and certainly took all the precautions during the ordering process with Adam&Eve to prevent something like from happening.

Very upset.

Same exact thing happened with us, with the same worry. Thankfully, most of the ads/random crap that shows up IS somewhat discreet... Though a few have been rather obvious as to what they were trying to sell.

Mister doesn't mind getting that type of mail (not like I do) so he didn't really care to make it stop at all, but I do believe that if you email Adam & Eve or call them, they should be able to simply take you off the list. Did you try logging back into the account on their site? There's probably a privacy policy section somewhere; might have to hunt around for it a bit though. (I know a good number of sites do such a thing.)

Had the exact same problem with these a-holes!!! Finally quit getting things in the mail and have never ordered from them since.

Probably the easiest thing to do is to get a drop box and have ALL mail redirected there, then, submit a change of address for what's important back to the house. Let the drop box expire, no more crap at home.

Contact Adam and Eve about them sharing your personal information with outside entities and that you'll no longer use their company.

??? strange because I bought several toys from Adam and Eve and never got any thing from them in normal mail just E-mails?

We've let Adam&Eve know about the surprise our displeasure. Hope this does it. Not what we bargained for by venturing into the sex toy world. Sigh.

If you ordered online I "think" there may be a box you need to uncheck which then prohibits them from selling your name

I ordered something from them and I do NOT get anything unsolicited from any other company.

Although I too get a daily e-mail from Adam & Eve with their specials...

I think stores shouldn`t do this kind of thing seems in my experience it adversly effects the business. I would if I were you email them directly and ask to be removed changed from whatever they have you on. I hope your problem gets rectified. Nothing worse to me then upsetting a customer.

I've ordered from them before and get constant emails every single day but have never gotten any real mail. I agree that there must have been a box which is already checked when you order and you did not uncheck it. Hope your problem gets better.

Unwanted mailings continue to arrive. Sigh.

Have spoken to A&E, and have double-checked account profile. You guys were right--one of the boxes was checked. I remember checking it off very consciously the first time I opened the account. I must have assumed that that was permanent. I'm guessing that the second time I ordered through them, it was defaulted to checked, and I wasn't careful enough the second time. Why the customer has to pay this kind of penalty for giving them business, I won't understand. What a bad mistake this has been. Will never, ever give A&E our business again.

We just wanted to explore. In private. How naive. Sigh.

Can you advise as to how to make these stop? Are we looking at having to contact every adult toy/dvd mass mailers?

After some more serious googling, found the following web page, chock full of information on how to stop unwanted, unsolicited postal mailings. Of note, it says:

"If you receive unwanted pornographic or sexually explicit mail, there is a powerful legal tool in your corner called Form 1500. By filling out the form and attaching the specific piece of junk mail you want stopped, a company becomes criminally liable if it continues to send you unwanted mail. You can get a copy of Form 1500 by visiting your post office, calling the U.S. Postal Service, or downloading the form at www.usps.com/forms/_pdf/ps1500.pdf."

Hope this really works.
