I'm so tired of people ranting on about something that I already know about. Is it rude to just cut them off at the knees? Or should I pretend I'm an idiot with no worldly knowledge and am actually interested and making myself seem idiotic? Hell, I'll play the fool if it'll get me places, but God... when they're ranting about idiotic things in the first place, what do you do?

How about we just accept that when we throw everything out there for the world to see, that there will be some comments that are unkind, some that are cloyingly nice and more in the middle.

Well, if you want my advice

:p

Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, and spam...

And a slice of strawberry tart without so much rat in it.

Hope you didn't include unsolicited Monty Python in your justifiable tiff?

btw, I vote for off at the knees, too :) You can borrow my axe, if you wanna.

I'm the idiot who offered unsolicited advice this time and apologized for it. Looking back I realize that everything I said in that post was elementary. In my defense, I was bored and just kept typing without really thinking about it. I've seen your pictures, you are quite beautiful and obviously you already know much of what I posted. Lesson learned, won't do it again.

oh PacBlue, I wasn't you personally! I really am just PMSing... and there were earlier incidents with other people. So it's NOT YOUR FAULT!

I understand

I saw one post and then read the other and I assumed. I'm sorry about the PMS, I don't much like it either.

Goodnight... *hugs*

For me, it depends on the person/circumstance. If the ranter/advice giver has a good heart and good intentions in what they are droning on about, I try to do the kind thing - smile, thank them, and move on.

But if the person is just ranting to hear themself spout, well, I might cut them off more quickly and be more curt in my thank you before I move on. Either way, it really doesn't cost me much to be kind, and that's how I'd want to be treated, so why not.
