After shooting 110 bullets at the suspect, hitting him 68 times.

“That’s all the bullets we had, or we would have shot him more,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper.

Yeah... I know, but I'm still uncivilized enough to find what he had to say funny.

Flashing on the old Monty Python gag.

"We would have considered your plea of self defense. But you stopped to reload. Twice."

I'm all in favor of the police using deadly force when it's called for. He had already killed and was on the run...armed and extremely dangerous. The comment is probably unnecessary (I think we all could have inferred that), but I agree it's funny as hell.

Of course, now that he said that, someone in that guy's family will be filing a lawsuit....

Two thoughts come to mind:

1. Sixty-eight out of one hundred and ten isn't very good odds for professional law enforcement officers. That's a 62% hit rate.

2. Shot sixty-eight times. Talk about overkill.

So, he wasn't dead enough after some 10, 20 or 40 bullets? Who were they after? Superman?
