There was an old story by that name, "Unnoticeable". In that story, a woman finds out that no one around her seems to notice (first) clothes mishaps (like her skirt blown up by a gush of air) and then even her nudity. In the end she wakes up, and all that was a dream.

How about: that wasn't a dream, just a strange kind of magic (or mind control), and whatever she put on, would stay in the mind of all people, even those who she never met (and on the photos/images too). The magic is reset every 24 hours for every item of clothes, after she had it on last time.

How would she progress through her life with that perk? Turn into exhibitionist, who gets off walking around naked? Progress into wearing more and more daring outfits? Get caught, when she gets overdue of the magic time? Realizes she's too accustomed to being naked around people, that she needs a "coming out"? On Friday she participates in a corporate group photo, and spends all weekends in the nude at home, but the guy developing photos' suddenly finds her clothes disappearing from the image?

It's a mask she wears. The mask itself is invisible, but when she wears it people will perceive her as appropriately dressed - but sometimes, in photographs, the truth is revealed and the mask is visible.

Interesting take on a premise I love very much. The need to provide and renew the clothes impressions could resolve some problems.

I too think it's very likely an enhanced/cursed item she wears, but probably jewelry. A necklace, or a ring, or even erring, or, why not, a piercing in navel or even labia. But probably something unobtrusive and by itself not necessarily very prominent. Something she wouldn't at all easily associate with such an outlandish effect, but still wear almost constantly... but not completely continuously, perhaps.

I would usually think about it as everyone else seeing her dressed as they think she should be -- and thus could develop very sharp differences and engage in absurd arguments about what exactly the naked girl is supposedly wearing. Bonus if in the heat of such argument they actually describe her nudity in great detail never realizing (but illustrating their eyes see what is, the delusion just a fragile construct injected at the very highest level of consciousness).

That's extremely arousing, but has few logical difficulties. What's the effective range? What about electronic devices, video and photography, reviewed far away at different time by persons supposedly never directly affected? What about touching (like, the joy of dancing with a girl in completely feel-through clothes)? Magic can disobey any logic and have arbitrary rules, but such rules better to be simple and predictable or there's difficulty to communicate them in convincing way.

A person knowing or expecting her nudity would see it clearly. One way, it's good thing, she can go to showers after gym and no one would scream at her for trying to shower with dress on. But a careful observer may notice she didn't dress afterwards. Secret friends know and see, and in borderline cases similarly walk around nude unseen themselves.

(Logical absurd endgame, everyone's learned about the "secret" nudity but help keep it secret by inertia and tacit weariness others may still not be aware, even though the actual effect itself has long caused completely.)

And then there's the elephant in the room, why she's ever naked in the first place? How it happened she stripped and discovered this? Especially if it's purely a psychic power, it could first manifest in moment of great stress, when she's somehow forced to go naked, by accident or ill will, but it break reality in such an unusual and unexpected way. She's totally terrified and embarrassed but there's no expected reaction... instead everyone's prising her outfit she doesn't wear. That still doesn't make a habit, not to the point she's almost always walking around naked in public. Of course, if it's a magical item, the same item could somehow preclude her to wear clothes...

Here, a leap back to the topic suggestion, with a fixed and expiring virtual outfit. What if the magic destroys the clothes she attempts to wear, retaining just the residual image, and that for only a fixed time? That has interesting consequences, and introduce bugs (useful to give away the magic, of course) in different edge cases, like the shower scene -- she can't actually undress. She may or may not be able to declare herself naked though.

Only way she can change clothes is to put something on, and whatever she put on cases to exist. She can borrow a swimsuit from a friend, but can't give it back. (Now, let's send her hiking or rafting with a small group of friends.) Or can she? Can she give out nonexistent clothes for others to pretend wearing? Maybe only seemingly existing as long as she's near... (...at this point it's all only in her head again, probably).
